Today we are releasing our first PrivCo Insight, a condensed version of our quarterly reports, where we ask our data pressing and timely questions. This edition is all about what our funding and industry tagging data reveal about the trends and movements shaping our tomorrow. Here are some of the highlights.

Up-and-coming industries

With our return-to-office plans tempered yet again, the trend towards better tools for remote teams continues, with a greater emphasis on no-code platforms for collaboration. Trading platforms benefit from an on-going increase in amateur investors and the crypto-curious. Increased costs for customer acquisition through ads on Facebook and Instagram mean more brands are flocking to content creators for their ad spending. The top categories seeing great gains in investment interest are military, influencer marketing, prototyping, graphic design, life insurance, and lifestyle.

Mature industries prevail

Even before the Russian invasion of Ukraine spiked cyber security investments, investing in a more secure digital world was already gaining momentum, with $3.2BN raised in February. The top mature industry keywords are fraud protection, identity management, edtech, business development, digital health, email, trading, database management, e-learning, cyber security, and billing.
