Working from home is no longer a luxury, but the new norm. With companies like Dropbox joining the list of tech companies permanently shifting to working from home, long gone are the days of commuting and meeting for work.

  • Studios and Coffee Co-work. As Dropbox announced with its studio's concept, workers may only need to head into work for collaboration events and coworking time.

  • Meanwhile, home office products continue to thrive. Vari, the leading standing desk startup that is listed in almost every top 10 list for ergonomic desk, rebranded and is still growing strong. It was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Coppell, Texas.

  • Competitor Autonomous also has a variety of standing desk and desk chair options with its products lineup shifted to focus on the workspace from home. It just announced a new SmartDesk product to be available in November.

  • Rise to new lighting products. It’s no mystery that specialty lighting companies have grown in popularity thanks to the rise of vloggers and influencers for social media channels but these companies are now adding to their lineup products tailored for at-home video work.

  • A future thought? While traveling seems daunting still, RemoteYear was founded on the idea of gathering professionals to travel together while working remotely. While it still hasn’t relaunched its travel projects, we may see it begin to pick up when travel becomes safer.

Doubling down on efforts to make online presentations more engaging for teachers and students, it announced hand gesture controls for digital video content.
