Highlights of the Week (July 8, 2022)

Nothing like beating the heat by watching a summertime blockbuster. While I’m slumped over my desk blasting the AC and drinking copious amounts of cold brew, I’m turning my attention to the summer schedule of releases. I’m not a die-hard comic book fan but lately, these Marvel movies have me intrigued. Maybe it’s Chris Hemsworth in Thor regalia, or maybe it’s Taika Waititi’s sense of humor, or maybe it’s the surprise casting of a ripped Natalie Portman in a rom-com style plot line.

Also on the docket, for anyone with a 5+ year old (the four-year-old in my life had moments of sheer terror followed by imaginative role-playing), is Lightyear, the Pixar tale of Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear. Similarly, in a nod to my 90’s childhood, is Jurassic World Dominion, featuring OG dinosaur survivors, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill.
