Highlights of the Week (July 22, 2022)

It seems everyone is on vacation right now. With temperatures in the 90s this weekend in New York and a heat-exhausted landscape for venture deals and acquisitions, many have turned on their out-of-office replies. Travel over the July 4th weekend was the highest since 2000, with over 2.5M people rolling through airport security. Spain saw an 85.5% increase in travelers in June over 2019 numbers.

For venture investors and execs who have spent the last few years closing deals at breakneck speed, this moment allows them to reconnect with family and friends. Hamptons' golf clubs are teeming with VCs who are unfazed if they miss out on a deal. For now, they’re more comfortable with fairway long shots over founder long shots.
